1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We collect information you provide to create and personalize an account, such as your phone number, name, username, profile picture, favorite teams, and support communications. Phone numbers are used to authenticate accounts and help people connect with friends.
Photo and location metadata
With your permission, Replay reads information embedded in photos and videos in your Apple Photos library, including the device photo identifier, date and time, media type, and precise latitude and longitude when available. We send this metadata to our service to compare it with sports schedules and venue locations. Replay does not upload the contents of your entire photo library.
Photo or video content is uploaded only when you intentionally use a feature that needs it, such as setting a profile picture or sharing selected game memories with friends. You control which photos are starred or shared.
Sports, social, and user content
We collect the games you confirm, add, dismiss, or delete; starred photos; teams and venues; badges and Yearbook statistics; friend connections, tags, invitations, and requests; comments; and other content you choose to create or share in Replay.
Contacts
If you grant Contacts access, Replay reads contacts on your device to help you find or invite people. Contact details remain on your device unless you select someone to tag or invite. For a selected contact, we may process the contact name and phone number to locate an existing Replay account or create an invitation.
Subscriptions and purchases
Apple processes payments. We and our subscription service provider receive purchase and entitlement information such as product, subscription status, renewal, cancellation, and expiration events. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Device, usage, and diagnostics
We collect app interactions and technical information used to run and improve Replay, such as a Replay user ID, app version, platform, screens and features used, scan results, purchase-flow events, error messages, and push-notification device tokens. When you contact support, you may choose to include your device model, iOS version, app version, build number, and Replay user ID.
Website information
Our website does not use advertising trackers. Our hosting and security providers may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, and timestamps, to deliver and protect the site.
2. How we use information
- Authenticate accounts and provide Replay’s features.
- Match photo metadata to sports games, dates, and venues.
- Build memories, Yearbooks, statistics, badges, and recommendations.
- Enable friend connections, tags, sharing, comments, and notifications.
- Manage Replay Pro entitlements and customer support.
- Measure product performance, diagnose errors, prevent misuse, and secure the service.
- Comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell personal information and do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. When we share information
We share information only as needed for the purposes above:
- With people you choose. Friends may see game memories, photos, profile details, tags, and comments you intentionally share with them.
- With service providers. These include Apple for App Store purchases and push notifications, RevenueCat for subscription management, Twilio for phone verification, PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics, Amazon Web Services for selected media storage, and our database, infrastructure, website-hosting, and security providers.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or respond to valid legal process.
- During a business transaction. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
We require service providers to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable law and to use it only to provide services to us.
4. Retention and deletion
We keep account information and user content while your account is active and as needed to provide Replay. Selected uploaded media is retained while it is used by an active Replay feature. We may retain limited records longer when required for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes. Providers such as Apple, Twilio, RevenueCat, and PostHog maintain their own records under their retention policies.
You can permanently delete your account in Replay by opening Me → Delete Account and confirming the request. Account deletion removes your account and associated active-service data, including your profile, game history, uploaded Replay media, social relationships, comments, notifications, and device tokens, except information we must legally retain. Removal from encrypted backups and provider systems may take additional time.
If you cannot access the app, review our account deletion instructions or email team@replayios.com.
5. Your choices and rights
- Change Photos, Contacts, Location, and Notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- Edit profile information and delete individual games or content in the app.
- Manage or cancel Replay Pro in your Apple subscription settings.
- Delete your account in the app.
- Request access, correction, portability, or deletion of personal information where applicable.
To make a privacy request, email team@replayios.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use care when choosing what to share.
7. Children
Replay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
8. International processing
Replay and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate protections for international transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Replay changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required.
